DESCRIPTION:\nCelebrate National Read Across America Day at the Jacksonville Humane Society on Wednesday, March 2!\n \n\n\nPeople of all ages are invited to visit JHS between 12-6:30pm to read out loud to the dogs and cats. From 3-6pm only, enjoy special activities including:\n\nfree books for all participants while supplies last\nscavenger hunt\ncrafts for the animals at JHS\n\n\n\nReading out loud is a wonderful form of enrichment for animals in shelters – it lowers their stress levels, helps them feel more calm in their kennels, and also helps them feel more comfortable around people.\n \n\n\nRead Across America Day at JHS is made possible thanks to program support from The Jim Moran Foundation.\n \n\n\nLearn more about the JHS Pawsitive Reading program at: jaxhumane.org/read\n\n
