Pantry Pal

Calling all groups, businesses, churches, communities, and schools!

Did you know that the JHS Pet Food Pantry distributes more than 170,000 lbs of pet food to families in need each year? Our Pet Food Pantry serves seniors, community members with disabilities, veterans, and families in crisis.

Sometimes the only difference between keeping a pet in their home and out of the shelter is one meal. With your help, we can keep best friends together and save space in our shelter for animals who are lost, abandoned, or neglected.

As a Pantry Pal, you will receive a special acknowledgment on our social media to let our 90,000+ followers know about your good deed and help raise exposure for our program.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I collect items that are not dog and cat food?

We ask that you please focus on your goal of collecting dog and cat food as these are our biggest needs for the pet food bank. However, we will not turn away other items on our wish list.

What if I don’t meet my goal?

That’s okay! We will still put your donations to good use.

Can JHS pick up my donations?

We can try, but our resources are limited. If you can deliver to JHS we will help you unload. You can send us a day and time for your delivery so we can make sure to share a thank you on our social media. We are open 7 days a week.

Where do I drop off donations?

Please let us know when you plan to arrive by emailing in advance. Donations can be brought to our Adoption, Education and Pet Help Center, 8464 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32216 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

When do you need my donations?

We ask that all donations come by the last Friday of the month before your selected month. For example, if you selected the month of March, please plan to deliver your donations by the last Friday of February.

Can students get service hours for donating food?

No, JHS cannot sign off or verify any service hours for a donation drive. Please discuss this matter with your school.

Can my business/group get a thank you on social media?

We do our best to comply with these requests. The best way for us to make this possible is for you to let us know when you plan to drop off the donations. We will also list Pantry Pals on our website.

Will JHS advertise my donation drive on its website or social media?

Your hard work in soliciting donations for our food bank makes it possible for JHS to use our means of public communication for animals in need, by advertising adoption events, specific pets, or JHS fundraisers. While we cannot market the donation drive for you, we are happy to offer suggestions to help you collect more donations. We are happy to post thank yous on our social media and website as recognition and to inspire others.

Can a single individual be a Pantry Pal?

Absolutely, if you can meet the goals then you are a Pantry Pal! If you are looking to donate just a few items or send something via Amazon, check out this page of our website.
