Adult Whisker Workshops (AWWs)

Have you ever wanted to craft for a cause? Adult Whisker Workshops are for individuals interested in learning new art techniques, creating useful projects for shelter pets in need, and meeting new people in a welcoming environment!

During AWWs, participants will complete a variety of service and art projects benefiting JHS pets while learning about animal sheltering, what dogs and cats go through while living in a shelter environment, and how we can help make their experiences as happy, healthy, and stress-free as possible.

A $25 donation is required to register. This donation helps cover the cost of project supplies and helps support the nearly 11,000 animals JHS cares for each year. Refreshments will be provided.

Pre-registration is required. Must be 18+ to participate.

Haunted Cat Castle Build-Off

5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. 

Registration fee: $25 per person

We’re getting frighteningly festive for our final Adult Whisker Workshop of the year! Get a team together and join us at the Jacksonville Humane Society on Friday, October 30, for our 1st annual HAUNTED CAT CASTLE BUILD-OFF!

Teams will use cardboard boxes and other cat-approved crafting materials like duct tape, paper towel tubes, and paper to construct spook-tacular haunted cat castles. The top teams will win a prize, and all of the haunted cat castles will be placed in JHS’s group cat rooms at the end of the evening for our feline residents to enjoy.

Yummy Halloween treats will be provided courtesy of Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery.

Spots are limited! Pre-registration is required. Though we recommend participating as a team, registration is done individually. You will be asked the name of your team during registration.

Must be 18+ to participate.
