Fostering Dogs and Puppies

Dogs and puppies of all ages need foster homes for a variety of reasons. We are always in need of foster parents who can care for:

  • Underage puppies
  • Mother dogs with sick puppies
  • Puppies who need socialization
  • Sick/injured dogs and puppies

JHS provides all necessary supplies and veterinary care. You supply the space, time, and – of course – the love!

Want to foster adult dogs who could use a break from the shelter?

If you’d like to treat an adult shelter dog to a mini-getaway, then our Shelter Staycation program is for you! Shelter Staycations give our adult dogs a much-needed break from the shelter and help us learn all about their personalities. Staycations are generally 5 – 7 days long and no longer than 30 days. While hosting a dog for a Staycation, you can help them find a home by promoting them online and telling your friends and family all about them!

How to get started:

  1. Check out dogs who are eligible for a Staycation here, or visit our Adoption Center at 8464 Beach Blvd. during our hours of operation: Monday-Friday from 12-7pm and Saturday-Sunday from 10am-5pm and look for dogs with a Staycation suitcase tag hanging from their kennel!
  2. Stop by our Front Desk and let our team know you’d like to take a dog on a Staycation.

If you have any questions about our Shelter Staycation program, please email our team at [email protected].
