Fostering Dogs and Puppies

Dogs and puppies of all ages need foster homes for a variety of reasons. We are always in need of foster parents who can care for:

  • Underage puppies
  • Mother dogs with sick puppies
  • Puppies who need socialization
  • Sick/injured dogs and puppies

JHS provides all necessary supplies and veterinary care. You supply the space, time, and – of course – the love!

Want to foster adult dogs who could use a break from the shelter?

If you’d like to treat an adult shelter dog to a mini-getaway, then our Shelter Staycation program is for you! Shelter Staycations give our adult dogs a much-needed break from the shelter and help us learn all about their personalities. While hosting a dog for a Staycation, you can help them find a home by promoting them online and telling your friends and family all about them!

You can bring a dog home for a Shelter Staycation Monday through Friday. Dogs must be brought back to JHS every weekend so that they can be seen by potential adopters during our busiest times.

If you’re interested in hosting a dog for a Shelter Staycation, simply complete our Staycation Sign-Up form.

After submitting the Staycation Sign-Up form, you will be asked to make an appointment to come in and pick up your furry house guest!
