In August, JHS was thrilled to host our sixth annual Jacksonville’s Cutest Pet photo contest, made possible by support from our incredible friends at Subaru of Jacksonville. Our goal? To crown THE cutest pet in all of Duuuval! Every pet in the contest gathered votes through heartfelt donations made by their biggest fans, all benefiting JHS.
Through the kindness and generosity of our community, we raised an outstanding $47,982 for animals in need. Now that’s something to bark – and meow – about! Generosity truly does breed joy.
The pet who received the most votes earned the title of “Jacksonville’s Cutest Pet” for all of 2026, a feature on digital billboards across Jacksonville throughout January, a professional photo shoot, and spotlights on the JHS website and JHS social media.
The 11 runners-up earned the title of “JHS Spokespet of the Month” and will each receive a month-long feature on the main page of the JHS website in 2026.
Ready to meet this year’s winner and runners-up?

Daisy Belle (Grand Prize Winner)
“Hey, Jacksonville! My name is Daisy Belle, and I am the little sister to last year’s winner, Pacer! I love to explore, go on walks, and car rides are my favorite! I love all people and animals and every day is the best day ever! Hope you take your day TO THE LIMIT!” Learn more about Daisy Belle »

Petey
“Petey is a JHS Alum, c/o 2018, and would love for you (yes, you!) to help her raise funds to care for animals who have lost their homes.”

Chloe
“Chloe is a 7-year-old Pomsky (half-Pomeranian and half-Husky) who lives in Jacksonville with her littermate and protector, Smokey. Born in Ballground, Georgia, from a litter of ten, they first moved to Green Cove Springs before settling into the big city of Jacksonville. They love discovering wildlife like deer and armadillos on their daily walks and their favorite treat to end the day is doggie ice cream, followed by a greenie. Chloe is excited to help raise money for her canine and feline brothers and sisters and hope you vote for her!”

Oreo
“Oreo is currently 6 months old and was rescued from the woods in North Carolina in June of this year. He loves to chill outside on the patio, or sleep in his cat tree as well as play with his toys all day. Oreo is Jacksonville’s cutest pet!”

Muffy Rose
“Muffy Rose is a 6-year-old pedigreed British Blue Shorthair. She lives with her fiancé Harley, who is an 8-year-old rescue, and her mom and dad. She enjoys being with Harley and doing zoomies throughout the house.”

Gabby
“We rescued Gabby 4 years ago and now she has her forever home. She is the sweetest baby but a really big bed hog at night.”

Gigi
“Gigi joined our family in January 2021 after a winding rescue journey that brought her to us through the Jacksonville Humane Society. My heart was set on three other dogs before her, but fate had other plans and we couldn’t be more grateful. Gigi was a handful at first, needing more care and patience than our two previous rescues, Petey and Dixie. But four-and-a-half years later, she has blossomed into the sweetest, goofiest, snuggliest girl who adores the pool and makes us laugh every single day. She’s not just our family’s joy, she’s also my inspiration for serving on the JHS Board, helping other pets find their forever homes. Gigi proves that sometimes the best matches are the ones we don’t expect.”

Daisy
“Daisy was born in a litter of 8 and only 4 survived. She is beyond sweet, she loves to play run and eat treats. She is beyond spoiled. She goes to doggy daycare all the time. She loves to chase squirrels and rabbits but wouldn’t know what to do if she caught them. She has tons of nicknames: Daisy Bug, Muffin, Baby Daisy, Daisy Long Legs. She has captured my entire heart and soul. She sniffs everything. I also was lucky enough to get her brother a year after I had her. She is truly special and with a special soul.”

Ilean
“Hi! My name is Ilean (because I have 3 legs, so I lean…hee!). The Jacksonville Humane Society saved me in February of 2023. They had to amputate my leg and do a couple of other ‘fix ups’ for me. Then I met my mom and dad who adopted me and took me home. I am loving life now. I walk, go to the dog park, play fetch and tug, and even visit new friends at an assisted living home. Please support JHS with your donation – to me or any other pet in the running. Let’s raise as much as we can! Kisses and doggie slobbers…Ilean.”

Benny
“Benny was adopted as a baby. He was born January 22, 2025 with four siblings. He is a rambunctious, funny little guy. He knows how to give kisses and hugs. I love him so much! Please vote for him.”

Jessie
“My name is Jessie. I am an 11-year-old princess. I came from a shelter in Alabama. My mom got me off PVPV Swip Swap in 2014. I am a returning photo contest winner. I won fourth place a few years ago.”

Piper
“At 18 years old, blind, deaf, and toothless, Piper may not look like your typical ‘cutest dog’… but one look at him and your heart will melt. A proud 2008 alumni of the Jacksonville Humane Society, Piper was rescued alongside his bonded litter brother, Radar, who tragically passed away from cancer five years ago. Today, Piper rules his home with grace, wisdom, and a wobbly little strut. His favorite things? Car rides, cuddles, soft blankets, and being carried like royalty. Despite his age and dementia, Piper brings joy to everyone who meets him and his 300,000+ social media fans would agree: cute isn’t about perfection… it’s about heart. Piper proves that the frosted face of an old dog is the cutest thing you’ll ever see. Piper is a Good Boy.”
