Who’s the cutest pet in Duuuval? It’s Daisy Belle!
Daisy Belle was the grand prize winner of our sixth annual Jacksonville’s Cutest Pet photo contest, sponsored by Subaru of Jacksonville.
Fun fact: Daisy Belle is the little sister of last year’s grand prize winner, Pacer!
Daisy Belle has earned the esteemed title of the First Coast’s cutest pet and is currently being featured on Clear Channel Outdoor digital billboards throughout Jacksonville. If you spot Daisy Belle on a billboard, snap a photo and send it to us!
We recently asked Daisy Belle’s dad – Ben Kingsbury, owner of Gotham City Limit comic shop – to tell us a little bit more about Daisy Belle and the impact she has had in his life.
1. How did Daisy Belle come to be in your life?
Daisy Belle had been found on the street as a stray dog when she was a puppy. A loving foster family took care of her while looking for her new home! Pacer, the Amazing Shop Dog was four years old at the time and I thought he could use a dog friend, so we met up with Daisy Belle in 2015 and she became a Kingsbury overnight!
2. How has Daisy Belle changed your life?
Daisy Belle is and was the best little sister to Pacer! She brings joy and warmth to every situation she is in and is a giant cuddly teddy bear of a dog! Unlike Pacer, she was a stray and a little rambunctious, so she taught us all a little patience! Haha!
3. What are Daisy Belle’s favorite hobbies and interests?
Daisy Belle loves all people!! She loves going for walks around the neighborhood, chasing tennis balls (however, not that good at returning them) and her favorite thing in the whole wide world is food!
4. Does Daisy Belle have any special talents?
Daisy Belle just started her training to become a more regular Shop Dog at the comic shop, trying to take up a little of what Pacer taught her! She brings an infectious happy spirit to everything she does!
5. What message do you think Daisy Belle would want to share with the humans and pets of Jacksonville?
Daisy Belle feels very fortunate that great souls in Duval County were looking out for her when she was a stray pup and wants every animal in the 904 to find a home just like she did. She didn’t think she would lose her older brother last year, so she reminds everyone that no days can be taken for granted and there is never a bad time for belly rubs!
