Looking to add a new four-legged family member this summer? The Jacksonville Humane Society is excited to be part of the 4th Annual Florida MEGA Adoption Event, a statewide adoption effort bringing together animal shelters and rescue organizations with one shared goal: finding homes for more than 2,000 pets across Florida.
Taking place June 19, 20, and 21, the event will feature adoptable dogs and cats at locations throughout the state. Nearly 50 animal welfare organizations across 34 counties are participating, making it one of the largest adoption events in Florida.
The Florida MEGA Adoption Event has already helped thousands of pets find homes. Last year alone, more than 2,100 dogs and cats were adopted during the three-day event. This year, organizations across the state are working together once again to help even more pets start their next chapter with loving families.
All pets available through the event will be spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Adoption fees will be waived* throughout the event, although some exclusions may apply.
Locally, community members can meet adoptable pets at the following locations:

Summer is one of the busiest times of the year for animal shelters. As more pets enter shelters, adoption plays a critical role in helping create space and resources for animals still waiting for care. Every adoption not only changes the life of a pet, but also helps shelters continue their lifesaving work.
Whether you’re searching for a playful puppy, a laid-back adult dog, a curious kitten, or a cuddly cat, the Florida MEGA Adoption Event is a great opportunity to meet a wide variety of pets looking for homes.
Mark your calendars and help us make room for more animals in need by choosing adoption this June. We can’t wait to help you meet your new best friend.
*Additional fees may apply.
