One beloved cat continues to bring people and pets together at the Jacksonville Humane Society.
Each November, Linda honors the memory of her cat, Missy, by generously sponsoring adoption fees for cats and kittens at JHS. This year, that tradition continues on Oct. 31-Nov. 1, when you’re invited to meet the cats and kittens in our care and welcome a new companion home with a waived adoption fee.
“Missy was my best friend and a loyal companion,” said Linda. “Being able to honor her through this adoption event is something that I cherish.”
For anyone who has loved a pet, that connection is familiar. It’s the cat who greets you at the door, settles beside you after a long day or somehow makes your favorite chair their own. Linda’s generosity celebrates those everyday moments by helping more people experience them.
Over the years, her support in Missy’s memory has helped cats and kittens join loving families throughout our community. Every adoption adds another story to that tradition, from a kitten’s first afternoon exploring their new home to an older cat finding a favorite sunny spot.
Whether you’re ready to adopt or know someone who is, you can help carry Missy’s memory forward. Stop by to meet our adoptable cats, share the event with a friend and join us in thanking Linda for making this special weekend possible.
Visit JHS at 8464 Beach Blvd. on Oct. 31- Nov. 1, from 10 am to 5 pm both days. A cat carrier is required at the time of adoption-JHS has available cat carries to purchase. Additional fees may apply.
