Memorial Day weekend is often filled with backyard barbecues, time with loved ones, and the unofficial start of summer. This year, it can also be the perfect time to welcome home a new best friend.

From Saturday, May 23 through Monday, May 25, JHS is inviting the community to celebrate the holiday weekend by opening their hearts and homes to a shelter pet. During this special Memorial Day adoption event, all dog and cat adoption fees will be just $20.

Whether your family is looking for a walking buddy for summer adventures, a playful companion for the kids, or a quiet cat to curl up with after a long day, JHS has pets of all ages, personalities, and energy levels ready to meet you.

Every pet at JHS has their own unique story. Some are outgoing and full of energy, always ready for the next adventure. Others are gentle, affectionate, and happiest curled up beside their favorite person. No matter what kind of companion you are looking for, our adoption counselors will be available throughout the weekend to help match you with a pet that fits your lifestyle, personality, and home.
