Pet Training Classes

Sylvia giving small dog a treat

All classes are held at our Adoption, Education and Pet Help Center and facilitated by experienced JHS trainers. We have a large, air-conditioned training space indoors and may also hold classes outside depending on training topics and weather.

JHS uses a positive reinforcement method for training.

All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccines to attend an in-person class at JHS. JHS Training Classes are non-refundable and there are no makeup classes for missed sessions.

Stranger Danger

Does your dog get stressed or nervous when guests come to the house? Do they bark or lunge at strangers passing by or approaching you while on a walk? Join us for a 6-week exploration into why your dog reacts to unfamiliar people and what you can do to help. In our first class, we will dive into the science behind these behaviors in a consultation for humans only. Then you and your dog will have 5 private, 30-minute training sessions with your instructor. These 5 private sessions will be scheduled individually. $150, 6 sessions ($135 for pets adopted from JHS*)

Next class starts Sunday, May 15, at 11 a.m.
