Pet Training Classes

All classes are held at our Adoption, Education and Pet Help Center and facilitated by experienced JHS trainers. We have a large, air-conditioned training space indoors and may also hold classes outside depending on training topics and weather.

JHS uses a positive reinforcement method for training.

All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccines to attend an in-person class at JHS. JHS Training Classes are non-refundable and there are no makeup classes for missed sessions.

 

2023 Update:

JHS behavior classes are not accepting new students at this time as we focus resources on supporting the pets at JHS.

Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Emotional Support Dogs

What About Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, and Emotional Support Dogs?

Service Dogs: Service dogs are trained to perform specific tasks to assist people with disabilities. JHS does not offer this type of training. You can learn more by clicking here.

Therapy Dogs: JHS can help you with basic manners and training education. Our friend at Petco have more information for you.

Emotional Support Dogs: If you have a question about emotional support dogs, please consult with your doctor. Emotional support animals must be prescribed by a licensed medical professional.
