Spring through fall is kitten season and every year, over 4,000+ kittens arrive at our shelter in need of care. Many are too young to stay in the shelter overnight, and the best place for them to thrive is in a cozy, loving foster home.
Foster volunteers open their hearts and homes to care for kittens until they’re big enough (about eight weeks old) to be spayed/neutered and adapted into their new homes. It’s a short-term commitment with a huge impact.
Whether you can help for a few weeks or just a night, your home can be a lifesaving stop on a kitten’s journey.
We’re looking for foster homes for kittens of all kinds, including:
- Nursing moms with litters
- Bottle babies who need round-the-clock feeding
- Tiny kittens just learning to eat solid food
- Weaned kittens who just need a safe space to grow
- Shy kittens that need extra social time and snuggles
- Overnight guests who just need a quick stay
Our foster page is your go-to resource for answers to frequently asked questions and it also features photos of adorable kittens currently in need of foster homes!
If you’re unable to foster but still want to make a difference, please consider donating through our kitten wishlist. It includes essential, lifesaving items like kitten formula that we use daily in the shelter.
