Bissell’s Empty the Shelters Event

Jacksonville Humane Society is proud to take part in BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters adoption event, bringing new opportunities for shelter pets to find loving homes from May 1 through May 17.

This year, the Jacksonville community has not one, but two participating shelters. Alongside JHS, Animal Care and Protective Services will also be joining this nationwide effort to help pets and families come together.

Community members are encouraged to visit either shelter to meet adoptable pets and find the right match for their home:

📍Jacksonville Humane Society, 8464 Beach Boulevard

📍Animal Care and Protective Services, 2020 Forest Street

During the event, all adoption fees at both JHS and ACPS will be waived. *

Prospective adopters can browse available pets online before visiting. View adoptable dogs and cats from JHS here and available pets from ACPS here.

Finding loving homes for shelter pets is the heart of Empty the Shelters. As the nation’s largest funded adoption event, BISSELL Pet Foundation helps remove barriers to adoption and gives thousands of pets across the country the chance to start their next chapter with a family.
